Daphny Peneza, MSN, RN, CNOR, CSSM, TNCC is an RN IV / Neurological Practice Specialist for Education of the Department of Neurosurgery at Memorial Hermann Hospital - Texas Medical Center. She completed her Bachelors and Masters Degree in Nursing at Ateneo de Davao University, the Philippines where she was a nursing faculty member and a registered nurse - midwife before migrating to Canada and the USA. Daphny was honored in 2018 with a Promising Professional Achievement Award by AORN, Outstanding Filipino Nurse by the Philippine Nurses Association of Metropolitan Houston, Nurse Excellence Pillar Award (Nurse Innovator) by Memorial Hermann Hospital, and Outstanding Neurosurgery Clinician / Educator by AORN of Greater Houston. She received another national award this year for Excellence in Neuroscience Education from the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses (AANN) and was recently named as one of the Top 150 Nurses of Houston for 2020.

Ms. Peneza is involved in AORN nationally as Global Surgical Conference Education Advisory Committee Member, Clinical Nurse Educator’s Specialty Assembly Chair, National Conference Speaker, Poster Presenter, and Journal Peer Reviewer / Correspondent. Local involvements include serving as a member of TCORN’s Leadership Council and AORN of Greater Houston’s President-Elect. She also collaborated with the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses and American Nurses Association as one of the contributors of the 3rd Edition of Neuroscience Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice.
