Dr. Wang obtained his PhD in Biophysics from the Lab of Cognitive Brain Imaging, University of Science & Technology of China (now Beijing MRI Center for Brain Research, Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences) in 1998, under the supervision of Prof. Lin Chen. He subsequently obtained postdoctoral training in MRI biophysics at the University of Connecticut Health Center (working with Dr. Song Lai) and University of Pennsylvania (working with Dr. John A. Detre) from 1999 to 2002. He has been a Research Assistant Professor at the Departments of Radiology and Neurology, University of Pennsylvania from 2003 to 2010. Dr. Wang joined Ahmanson-Lovelace Brain Mapping Center at UCLA as Associate Professor of Neurology since March 2010. To date, Dr. Wang has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers and 13 book chapters/review articles, and has continuously been funded by NIH since 2004.
Dr. Wang also serves as the Executive Director of UCLA-Beijing Joint Center for Advanced Brain Imaging which he founded in 2012 to foster the collaboration between Ahmanson-Lovelace Brain Mapping Center (ALBMC) and Beijing MRI Center
