Danielle A. Schlosser PhD

Dr. Schlosser currently holds the positions of Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco, Director of the Digital Health Core in the Department of Psychiatry, and Director of the NIH-funded Digital Research and Interventions for Volitional Enhancement (DRIVE) lab. The goal of her research program is to design, develop, and investigate neuroscience-informed digital health solutions to improve the lives of people with schizophrenia and depression. She has a broad background in clinical psychology, with specific training in behavioral neuroscience, early detection and intervention of psychosis, and digital health research.

Dr. Schlosser's research is focused on translating the latest findings in the area of reward processing and psychological determinants of motivation into new interventions to treat individuals with schizophrenia and depression. Her focus on targeting domains that transcend diagnostic labels, such as motivational states and enhancing outcomes, such as quality of life. More recently, with funding from NIMH, her research was focused on developing a mobile app called PRIME, which was designed to target the motivational system and thereby enhance the drive to improve one's quality of life and health outcomes. Her lab is testing the feasibility and impact of PRIME in two ongoing clinical trials in schizophrenia and they recently completed a pilot trial in depression.
