Danielle Matilsky is a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician. She completed her medical training at Stony Brook School of Medicine and residency at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital in Manhattan. Dr. Matilsky’s interest in medicine matured during her tenure as a US Fulbright Scholar in Malawi, Africa, where she ran a clinical trial focused on the treatment of severe malnutrition. With an ongoing passion for providing healthcare in resource-limited settings, she pursued a fellowship in Point-of-Care Ultrasound and Global Health at the University of Pennsylvania. She developed skills as an educator, moving into the role of Director of Point-of-Care Ultrasound for Undergraduate Medical Education at Thomas Jefferson University, and helped develop and implement an ultrasound training program in Zanzibar, Tanzania. Dr. Matilsky is currently faculty at Johns Hopkins University, in the division of emergency ultrasound. She has lectured nationally and internationally in her areas of expertise and has published in several academic journals and textbooks.
