Daniele Massera is an Assistant Professor of the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Program in the Department of Medicine at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Cardiovascular Disease. He completed his Doctor of Medicine at the Medical University of Vienna. Her research aims to better understand the link between bone metabolism and calcification of the heart valves using echocardiography and PET–CT imaging. Mitral annular calcification can occur in HCM and he is interested in how it may lead to left ventricular outflow tract obstruction and symptoms. He also works on examining the prevalence of HCM in the general population using modern imaging methods. For his research, he was awarded a Glorney-Raisbeck Fellowship Award from the New York Academy of Medicine. Her Clinical Interests are Echocardiography, Mitral Annular Calcification, Population-Based Studies, Positron Emission Tomography, Aortic Valve Stenosis, and Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy.
