Daniel Mark studied physics at the University of Ulm, Germany and University of Oregon, USA. He began his PhD studies in 2007 at the chair of MEMS Applications at the University of Freiburg, Germany in the field of centrifugal microfluidics, which he completed 2013. During that period in 2008, he became group leader of the centrifugal microfluidics group and took over responsibilities in acquisition of funding and personnel management. Since 2011, he is head of the Lab-on-a-Chip Design & Foundry Service, the interface of the division to industry and is responsible for quality management and marketing. Additionally, together with Felix von Stetten he is head of the division Lab-on-a-Chip.
