Daniel Hernandez-vaquero PhD

Dr. Daniel Hernandez-Vaquero is a Surgeon at Central University Hospital of Asturias. He received his Degree in Medicine from the University of Oviedo. He started the residency program of cardiac surgery in the Department of Cardiac Surgery of the Central University Hospital of Asturias, Spain. That Department, with 1000 cardiac surgery operations/year, has the highest volume of patients in the country.

During his residency, he developed his philosophical thesis. It was defended in 2012 at the age of 28 and was evaluated as “outstanding cum laude”. During his fifth year of training, he stayed three months in the Cardiac Surgery Department of the Children's Hospital Boston (Harvard School of Medicine) with which he published several works.

His research interests are Cardiac Surgery, Heart Diseases, Heart Failure, General Surgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, and Cardiology.
