Dr. Soffer is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine at Perelman School of Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania. His clinical focus is Preventive Cardiovascular Medicine/Clinical Lipidology and General Internal Medicine. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Lipidology. Dr. Soffer is an immediate past president (as of May 2019) of the Northeast Chapter of the National Lipid Association (NLA), serves on the Board of Directors for the NLA, and the Director of the Philadelphia Lipid and Atherosclerosis Club (PLAC).

Dr. Soffer is an active member of the NLA, participating in multiple committees. He is co-chair of the Publications Committee for the NLA, co-Chair of the Lipid Academy, and co-Editor of LipidSpin, and is a regular reviewer for the Journal of Clinical Lipidology. He earned a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Medical School. Internship and residency were completed at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Soffer has been a full-time clinician providing primary care at Internal Medicine Associates in Media PA and has dedicated practice in Preventive Cardiology/Clinical Lipidology at Radnor PA and at the Perelman Center in Philadelphia PA. He lectures frequently for local and national hospitals and is the director of the Preventive Cardiology lecture series for the Cardiovascular Fellowship program at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
