Dr. Daniel Buffington is the President and Practice Director at Clinical Pharmacology Services, located in Tampa, FL. He is also on faculty at the University of South Florida College of Medicine and Pharmacy and serves as an experiential preceptor for numerous colleges across the country.
He studied Biology/Biochemistry at the University of South Florida, completed the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Mercer University. His postgraduate training included a pharmacy practice residency and clinical pharmacology fellowship from Emory University.
Dr. Buffington is a clinical pharmacology specialist and provides medication therapy management consulting, serves as a principal investigator for Phase II and III clinical trials, and manages a national drug information service that provides clinical support for medical practices, health systems, and health plans. The practice also includes a forensic pharmacology division that supports medical examiners, law enforcement, state and federal agencies, and courts.
His interests include developing practice model resources for improving medication utilization and patient safety, health care service reimbursement, and developing health informatics and specialty analytic tools for emerging electronic medical record systems and direct patient care.
