Dr. Daniel Chia Hock Thye graduated from the University of Singapore with B. Eng. (Hons) and was awarded Commonwealth Scholarship to pursue post graduate studies in innovations, systems design and technologies in UK. He graduated with M. Sc. with Essery Memorial Prize; and Ph. D. in Engineering and published papers in International journals. After returning from U.K., he obtained Diploma in Business Administration (NUS) and Diploma in Investments with prize from the Institute of Banking & Finance. Dr. Chia served at the Singapore Technologies, where he worked in management, production, system designs and innovations. He went on to serve in Sembawang Corporation Limited, where he served in Corporate Development and was the Group Chief Information Officer of Sembawang Corporation Limite and the General Manager of RDC Pte Ltd, overseeing IT and Operation; and set up and operated engineering companies including RDC Medical Waste Incineration Pte Ltd.

He did part time lecturing in the National University of Singapore and the University of Newcastle upon Tyne on Information Technology for Business Applications, Innovations & Technopreneurship. He was invited to participate in lecture in NTU M. Sc. Technopreneurship & Innovation Programme on Strategic Management for New Ventures and Technology Firms. Dr. Chia is currently the Director, Transformation Office, Khoo Teck Puat Hospital and serves in the Audit Committee of the National Kidney Foundation. He is also serving as the Chairman of School Advisory Committee of Riverside Secondary School. Dr. Chia filed 16 patents locally and internationally of which 6 are for healthcare. Dr. Chia won a Public Service Award PBM from the President of Singapore for Community Services.
