Daniel Chan MBBS, MPH, FRACS, AFHEA

Dr. Daniel L. Chan completed his undergraduate Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of New South Wales (NSW) in 2011. He completed his Master of Public Health (MPH) at the University of Queensland in 2017. He is currently appointed as a Clinical Fellow, in Upper GI Surgery, at St George Hospital, NSW, Australia. He completed a year of post-fellowship Upper GI Surgery training at Prince of Wales Hospital, Hong Kong (SAR) China (2019-20). He is completing a Doctor of Philosophy (Western Sydney University) and was the 2020-21 Sir Roy McCaughey Research Scholar (Royal Australasian College of Surgeons).

Daniel is an active Adjunct Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine, University of NSW. He teaches, supervises, and examines undergraduate students. He was also involved in research supervision and post-graduate education of trainees and Honours students.

Daniel has broad interests in the fields of Upper Gastrointestinal; Surgical Oncology; Hernia and Bariatric Surgery; and Interventional Endoscopy and ERCP. Daniel is an active volunteer with St John Ambulance Australia (NSW) since 2004. He has served as Divisional Superintendent and is currently a Medical Officer with Operations Support Division. He is a Member of the Order of St John (MStJ). He was an elected council member of the St John NSW State Council from 2011-2013.
