Daniel Ankrah obtained his B Pharm degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Ghana and a graduate degree in epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in the United Kingdom. He is currently pursuing a professional Ph.D. from Utrecht University (Utrecht Centre of Pharmaceutical Policy and Regulation) in The Netherlands. While pursuing his Ph.D. he undertook courses in an economic evaluation of health, and benefit-risks of medicines from the European Program on Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacovigilance (EU2P). He also studied a course on health outcomes research at the Harvard Chan School of Public Health.

Daniel is a deputy director of pharmaceutical services at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Ghana. He is currently in charge of pharmacy practice research, monitoring of benefits and risks of medicines, and small-scale pharmaceutical preparation in the hospital. He is also actively involved in adherence counseling of HIV/AIDS patients on antiretroviral medicines. He mentors intern pharmacists and other pharmacists at the hospital. Daniel is an adjunct lecturer in pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacoeconomics, and biostatistics at the Ghana Chapter of the West African College of Postgraduate Pharmacists. He is interested in patient-centered pharmacy practice research.
