Daniel Angres MD is an Addiction Psychiatrist and has been treating individuals with alcoholism, addiction, and dual diagnoses since 1982. He specializes in the treatment of healthcare professionals, and wrote the textbook; "Healing The Healers" in 1999. Dr. Angres founded and lead the Program for Professionals in the Chicago area at several institutions over the last thirty years, and recently set out to affiliate with academically driven institutions in Chicago and nationally.

Dr. Angres is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Psychiatry, at the Department of Psychiatry at Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine, an Associate Professor of Psychiatry, at Rush University, College of Medicine, and a Visiting Associate Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He has taught a large number of medical students, residents, and fellows from these institutions over the years at the treatment program for professionals he founded in 1984 with Dr. Douglas Talbott.

Dr. Angres has consulted with approximately forty (40) states in this country in the area of multidisciplinary assessments for impaired physicians and other healthcare professionals, along with the treatment of addiction. He lectures extensively in the area of addiction and psychiatry, and recently wrote another textbook combining the two disciplines; "Positive Sobriety." Additionally, he has published many peer-reviewed journal articles in these areas.

In his spare time, he wrote the third book of fiction; "Miswired."

He is currently the Medical Director of the Positive Sobriety Institute, Chief Medical Officer of RiverMend Health.
