Dr. Dane Dickson grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, the second of eight boys to parents who were both school teachers. Dr. Dickson felt a calling to oncology at a young age when he witnessed the impact and pain caused by the diagnosis of cancer in his family. Dr. Dickson studied at the University of Utah, where he graduated with honors, with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and a minor in Mandarin Chinese. He also earned a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Utah. His extensive training includes:
Hematology/Oncology Fellow at the renowned Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah; as Emergency Medicine Attending at the Washington University Department of Emergency Medicine and Residency at Washington University/Barnes-Jewish Hospital, both in St. Louis, Missouri.
Dr. Dane Dickson is the Medical Director of the Rexburg Chapter of the Hospice Alliance and is also board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology from the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a regional committee member for the University of Utah School of Medicine’s Medical Admissions Board; presidential-appointed committee member for the American Society of Clinical Oncology; and committee chair for Madison Memorial Hospital’s Pharmacy and Therapeutics/Infection Control Committee. He is a member of the Idaho Medical Association; American Society of Clinical Oncology; and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Dickson has also served as the president of the Rexburg, Idaho, Chapter of Rotary International since 2001. He recently was named as the director of clinical science at the MolDx program Palmetto GBA, a CMS carrier.
