Dr. Dandapani Ramamurthy is the Chariman of the Scientific Committee of the All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS), which is an association of 12,000 ophthalmologists from all over India. As Chairman, he was in charge of coordinating all the scientific activities of the association from 2008 to 2011.
As Chairman, Scientific Committee, he successfully organized the 67th All India Ophthalmological Conference at Jaipur from 5-8 February 2009 in which around 6,500 delegates participated. He introduced several innovative changes in the content and conduct of the conference which were much appreciated by all concerned.
