Dana Petranova PhD

Dana Petranova is an Assistant professor of active research activities, mainly in the sphere of communication in democratic societies, media education, critical thinking, and behavioral innovations. Her main research interests are media effects and behavioral innovation in public policy. Dana Petranova functioned 8 years as the Dean of the Faculty of Mass Media Communication of the University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava, Slovakia (FMK UCM). She was a leader or expert on 15 national and international projects in the field of education, evaluation, innovation, media literacy, and communication. She is the Founder of the International Media Education Center (IMEC) at FMK UCM.

She has a lot of experience as a member of organizational and scientific committees of international conferences, editorial and scientific boards of scientific journals (Communication Today; European journal of Media, Art, and Photography; Lége Artis - Language yesterday, today and tomorrow), scientific councils of faculty and university. She is the author or co-author of two scientific monographs, one university textbook, and several articles in domestic and international prestigious scientific journals.

She has received several important awards: Literary Fund Award - Award for Outstanding Scientific Response to One Work, 3rd place in Social Sciences category, 2017; Commemorative Medal of the President of Trnava Self-governing Region for his contribution to education, 2017; Letter of thanks from the President of the Slovak Matica and the President of the Trnava Self-Governing Region for strengthening national awareness and patriotism within the National Maternity Celebrations, 2017; the University of St. Cyrill and Methodius in Trnava, Joaness Sambucus Pannonius Tirnaviensis plaque for extraordinary contribution in building and developing the University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava, 2017. Dana Petranova is an expert in the Department of behavioral innovation in the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic for Investment and Informatics.
