Dana Pe'er is currently working as a chair at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She received her Ph.D. at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Her goal is to understand the organization, function, and evolution of molecular networks. The molecular network needs to sense multiple signals from the environment, robustly process an appropriate cellular response and orchestrate the regulation of hundreds of genes and proteins to execute this response. She develops computational algorithms and models that use high throughput genomic and proteomic data to unravel a holistic systems view of this remarkable molecular network. Her research revolves around questions such as: How does this network differ between cell-type, individual, and species? How do simple components combine to build complex phenotypes? How does dysfunctional regulation lead to diseases such as cancer?
