Dan Siskind

A/Prof Siskind trained as a psychiatrist in Australia and the United States. He graduated from medicine at the University of Queensland in 1998, did his psychiatry training at Boston University an MPH at Harvard in 2005 and completed his Ph.D at UQ in Feb 2014. He works clinically as a psychiatrist at Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Service with people with treatment refractory schizophrenia.

His research interests include clozapine and treatment refractory schizophrenia. He was awarded an NHMRC Early Career Fellowship (2016-2019) looking at the cardio-metabolic health of people with severe and persistent mental illness.

A/Prof Siskind has over 70 peer reviewed publications, including two as first author in the highly ranked British Journal of Psychiatry, and has over $2 million in research grants in the past five years, including as a CI on an NHMRC Project Grant.
