Dr. Dan Farine is a Perinatologist at Mount Sinai Hospital and a Professor within the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, University of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He stepped down from being the Head of the Maternal/Fetal Medicine Division at the University of Toronto. Dr. Farine received his medical degree at Tel-Aviv University and completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Toronto in 1986. He finished his fellowship in Maternal/Fetal Medicine at Columbia University, New York, in 1988 following which he was appointed as a Staff Perinatologist at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto. He became the Director of Maternal/Fetal Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in 1990 and the Head of Obstetrics at Mount Sinai Hospital in 1992. He was the Head of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Toronto between 2004-and 2014.

Dr. Farine has published widely with more than 150 peer-reviewed papers, of which 9 received research awards. These included SPO and SMFM best paper awards, several best poster awards, as well as awards from the Society for Gynecologic Investigation and the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada. He is the editor of two textbooks in Obstetrics and an author of many book chapters. Dr. Farine has also received numerous teaching awards. He was a member and the Head of The MFM Committee of the SOGC for 15 years and has founded the Canadian Society of Maternal/Fetal Medicine.
