Damjan Osredkar MD, PhD

Prof. Damjan Osredkar, MD, PhD, is the head of the Pediatric Neurology Department of the University Children’s Hospital in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Prof. Osredkar received his degree at the University of Ljubljana in 1999 and his PhD in 2006. He was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship in 2006 and has worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California, San Francisco, USA (2007-2009) and the University of Oslo, Norway (2012-2014). His areas of interest include novel treatment options, gene therapy, translational science, neuromuscular diseases, and neuroprotective treatment. He is the PI of the clinical trial of gene augmentation therapy phase I/II for the CTNNB1 neurodevelopmental syndrome.
