Dr. Damaris Pena Evertz, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care at Sidney Kimmel Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University. Board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, and critical care medicine, she brings specialized expertise in the diagnosis and management of complex respiratory and critical illness. Dr. Evertz earned her medical degree from the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic and completed her internship and residency training at Bronx Lebanon Medical Center in New York.
She pursued fellowship training in pulmonary medicine at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center and in critical care medicine at Montefiore Medical Center, also in New York. In her clinical and academic roles, Dr. Evertz focuses on adult pulmonology, critical care, and conditions such as asthma and other general pulmonary diseases, combining patient-centered care with contributions to research and education within Jefferson’s comprehensive pulmonary and critical care programs.
