D. Fernando Estrada, assistant professor in the Department of Biochemistry, studies the structure and function of class 1 cytochrome P450 enzymes, with special emphasis on those that affect vitamin D availability. He earned an associate’s degree from Dodge City Community College, a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Kansas State University and a PhD in biochemistry from the University of Kansas.
