Dr. Kim served as a panelist for a recent Young Eye Surgeons webinar, “Phaco FUNdamentals: Expecting the Unexpected,” which is available for viewing through ASCRS Webinar-on-Demand, and moderated the first-ever Residents and Fellows Poster Presentation session at the 2015 ASCRS•ASOA Symposium & Congress. He has also served as a member of the Young Eye Surgeons Clinical Committee. Dr. Kim is a corneal specialist who practices comprehensive ophthalmology and treats all aspects of eye disease at Professional Eye Associates in Dalton, Georgia.
Dr. Kim received his bachelor of arts in chemistry at Amherst College and spent the subsequent year at Boston Medical Center as a research technician where he helped publish and author articles on leukemia treatments. He completed his medical degree at Albany Medical College, receiving award recognition for excellence in ophthalmology research. He completed his medical internship at the Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, and his residency in ophthalmology at the Louisiana State University Eye Center in New Orleans. Dr. Kim also pursued additional subspecialty fellowship training in corneal transplant surgery and refractive surgery at the LSU Eye Center.
