Dr. Crystal is interested in studying the mechanisms of protein-protein and protein-phospholipid interactions. She mainly uses cellular & biophysical methods including cellular imaging and electrophysiology paired with mutagenesis, protein purification and peptide design, microscale thermophoresis/isothermal titration calorimetry/fluorescence spectroscopy, polarization, NMR, and crystallography. Her current project involves optogenetic manipulation of PIP2/PIP3 in the cell to study ENaC function.
