Cristina Pellegrino Baena's professional training began with my degree in Physiotherapy at PUCPR in 1996. Subsequently, as a resident at AACD (Assistência à Criança Dídica - São Paulo). Developing means of primary prevention always seemed important to me and she realized that research could be an effective way to contribute to this. In this sense, she completed a master's degree in Health Sciences at FURG - Federal University of Rio Grande (2010) and a PhD in Health Sciences at PUCPR in 2013. She received a Sandwich grant from Capes to research with the Cardiovascular Epidemiology group at Erasmus University in Rotterdam / Netherlands where I lived in 2012. As a postdoctoral researcher, she worked at the Epidemiological Research Center of the University Hospital of the University of São Paulo (USP) on cardiovascular epidemiology projects. Today she is an adjunct professor at the Faculty of Medicine / PUCPR, teaching epidemiology and researching two major topics: 1) primary and secondary prevention of chronic diseases and 2) systematic reviews and meta-analyses.
