Dr. Cristian Pattaro, Ph.D. is Senior Researcher in Biostatistics and Genetic Epidemiology. After receiving an MSc degree in Statistics & Economical Sciences (University of Padova 1999), he grew experience in medical statistics & epidemiology at the Unit of Epidemiology & Medical Statistics of the University of Verona, under the leadership of Roberto de Marco. He deepened his understanding of statistical genetics at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health under the mentorship of Giovanni Parmigiani, obtaining a Ph.D. in Biomedical Statistics at the University of Milano in 2006. In the same year, he joined the Eurac Research Institute for Biomedicine. Since 2013, he is the group leader of the Biostatistics & Epidemiology group.

Dr. Pattaro applies statistical and epidemiological methods to problems arising from medicine, biology, and genetics. Research fields include genetic epidemiology of kidney function and cardiovascular health; linkage disequilibrium; statistical issues in population-based studies with relatedness structures.
