Craig Sadler MD

Dr. Craig Sadler, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Acute Care Surgical Services at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Medicine, where he participates in clinical care, teaching, and surgical education. He holds an academic appointment in the Department of Surgery and is involved in trauma surgery, general surgery, and critical care medicine as part of the VCUHealth faculty.

Sadler earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, graduating in 2015, and later completed his surgical training, including residency and fellowship work focused on acute care surgery and surgical critical care. His clinical expertise includes the management of trauma patients, complex surgical emergencies, and critically ill surgical patients. Before joining VCU, he trained in general surgery and acute care surgery, gaining experience in high-acuity surgical disciplines.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Sadler contributes to the education of medical students, residents, and fellows, and participates in research and quality improvement initiatives within the department. He is affiliated with VCU Medical Center and is committed to advancing patient-centered surgical care through education, research, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
