Dr. Kitchens has spent his educational and professional life in Gainesville, FL. He joined the College of Medicine faculty in 1975 and currently is a Professor of Medicine. His outside interests include enjoying time on our many area springs and rivers as well as raising a small herd of black angus cattle with his physician wife. He has expertise in teaching and particularly enjoys referrals of complicated hematology cases from other physicians. From 2002-2006, he served as Governor of the Florida Chapter of the American College of Physicians representing the interests of Florida’s 15,000 internal medicine doctors.
