Miller is an Associate Professor at The Scripps Research Institute in Jupiter, Florida. She began studying the role of memory in addiction while earning her Ph.D. at the University of California. The primary focus of Dr. Miller’s lab at Scripps Florida is developing therapeutics for memory disorders, including addiction, post-traumatic stress disorder, and Alzheimer’s Disease. Dr. Miller’s scientific efforts have been recognized in a variety of ways.

She has been invited to speak at national and international conferences, was selected to participate in the Kauffman Foundation Venture Capital Program, was named the 2015 Scripps Outstanding Mentor of the Year, and was awarded the prestigious Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, which was presented to her by President Obama at the White House in 2016. Her research has been highlighted by such news organizations as The Economist, The Washington Post, TIME Magazine, CBS, and Discovery.
