Cori L. Ofstead, MSPH is the President and CEO of Ofstead & Associates, Inc., where she leads a multidisciplinary team that specializes in designing and conducting real-world studies using gold-standard research methods to validate healthcare guidelines, treatments, and product claims. Since 1996, Ofstead’s team has worked with healthcare providers, professional associations, governmental agencies, and medical product manufacturers to improve the quality of medical care.
The results of Cori’s studies have been published in numerous journals, including CHEST, Vaccine, Infection Control, and Hospital Epidemiology, American Journal of Infection Control, Journal of Wound Care, Gastroenterology Nursing, AORN Journal, Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, Biomedical Instrumentation and Technology, and IAHCSMM’s PROCESS magazine. Her work has been cited in guidelines published by the CDC, AAMI/ANSI, AORN, the Infectious Diseases Society of America, and the Multisociety guidelines for GI endoscope reprocessing.
Cori currently serves on the editorial board of the American Journal of Infection Control, and she is a reviewer for Endoscopy, Endoscopy International Open, Journal of Urology, and Vaccine. In addition, she serves as a preceptor for graduate students in the epidemiology program at the University of Minnesota and supervises MPH candidates who complete their internships at Ofstead. She previously served as a research collaborator in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Mayo Clinic, where she was the principal investigator on two studies focused on assessing the effectiveness of endoscope cleaning and disinfection.
