Col Nigel Tai qualified from University College and Middlesex Hospital School of Medicine in 1991 and trained in General and Vascular Surgery in North East Thames. He undertook a Fellowship in Critical Care and Trauma Surgery at the Johannesburg General Hospital and joined the Regular Army in 2006, having previously served with the Army Reserve since 1999. He has undertaken multiple overseas deployments. He has led the Royal London Hospital's Trauma Service since 2012. He has previously held the appointments of Royal College of Surgeons of England Tutor in Trauma and Emergency Surgery and Senior Lecturer in Torso Trauma at the Royal Center for Defence Medicine.
