Dr. Grissom is the Associate Medical Director of the Shock Trauma Intensive Care Unit and Director of Critical Care Echocardiography at Intermountain Medical Center. Dr. Grissom was the leader in bringing critical care ultrasound and echocardiography to the bedside the multidisciplinary 24-bed Shock Trauma Intensive Care Unit. Dr. Grissom is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Utah.
A 1983 graduate of Yale University, Dr. Grissom earned his M.D. from the Yale University School of Medicine in 1990. He trained in internal medicine at the University of Washington Hospitals from 1990 to 1993, and then completed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care at the University of Utah from 1994 to 1996. From 2007 to 2008 he completed a fellowship in Transthoracic and Transesophageal Echocardiography in the Departments of Anesthesiology and Cardiology at the University of Utah. Dr. Grissom is a Testamur of the American Board of Echocardiography Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography Exam 2008 and Adult Transthoracic Echocardiography Comprehensive Exam 2008.
