Dr. Colleen Caron received a Ph.D. in Public Health, Epidemiology. She is the Director of the Data Analytics, Evaluation, and Performance Division at the RI Department of Children, Youth & Families and is an Assistant Professor of Practice Epidemiology at Brown University School of Public Health. In her RI DCYF role, she designs and conducts research, program evaluation, and data analysis to inform program, practice, and policy outcomes. In her academic role, she has overseen University-based research projects and teaches in the Brown University School of Public Health graduate program. Her public health research involves mixed methods with a focus on multilevel analysis of the social determinants of health in child welfare outcomes. She serves as a consultant to state child welfare agencies in data analysis, research, and evaluation. She also provides consultation in the application of a public health framework in child welfare. She has served on numerous Children's Bureau national child welfare expert committees, panels, and initiatives.
