Colleen M. Brand PhD, RN, NNP-BC

M. Colleen Brand is a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP). She has an MSN from the University of Texas Health Science Center Houston (1995) and a Ph.D. from Texas Woman’s University (2013). She works in the NICU at Texas Children’s Hospital caring for premature and high-risk infants and their families. She enjoys teaching, writing, and research. Her research interests are mainly in the areas of Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (chronic lung disease associated with prematurity), infection and stress. She recently co-authored a chapter on infection in Merenstein & Gardner’s Handbook of Neonatal Intensive Care (9th ed), a chapter on thermoregulation in Core Curriculum for Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing (6th ed), and an article on stress in NICU nurses in Advances in Neonatal Care.
