Colin Drummond MB ChB, MD, FRCP, FRCPsych, FFPH, FRCGP (Hon.)

Colin Drummond is Reader in Addiction Psychiatry and Consultant at St George's Hospital Medical School where he has been since 1993, and was the Clinical Director of Addiction Services in South West London and St George's Trust until 1998. Before that he was Lecturer and later Senior Lecturer in Addiction Behaviour at the Addiction Research Unit, National Addiction Centre, Institute of Psychiatry from 1987. Research interests include evaluation of addiction treatment approaches and psychological theories of addiction. He currently holds several research grants including a multicentre trial of CBT. He is an Assistant Editor of Addiction, Academic Secretary of the Addiction Psychiatry Faculty of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, and a member of the Alcohol Concern working group that published proposals for a National Alcohol Strategy in 1999. Member of the Medical Council on Alchoholism, Education Committe, 1997 - present.
