Cliona Ni Mhurchu BSc, PhD

liona is Professor of Population Nutrition at the University of Auckland, New Zealand and a Professorial Fellow at the George Institute for Global Health, Australia. She directs a programme of research in public health nutrition, diet interventions, and food policies, and is internationally recognised for her expertise in population nutrition interventions.
Her key areas of interest are food pricing (health-related food and beverage taxes), nutrition labelling, nutrient profiling, and technologies to support dietary change. Her studies have used a range of innovative technologies to deliver or evaluate interventions, such as smartphone apps, a virtual supermarket, scanner sales data, and automated wearable cameras.
