Clinton Coil, MD, MPH, FACEP is the Chief Quality Officer for Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and has previously served as the Patient Safety Officer for the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services. He is responsible for a variety of programs to monitor and improve the quality of care provided across all departments at the medical center. A Board-Certified Emergency Physician, he is also a faculty member in the Harbor-UCLA Emergency Medicine residency program and an Associate Clinical Professor of Emergency Medicine for the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
Dr. Coil has worked for the County of Los Angeles since 2003. He completed both his residency in Emergency Medicine and a fellowship in Quality and Process Improvement at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health from UCLA with an emphasis on Health Services Management. He has completed the Advanced Training Program in Healthcare Delivery Improvement at Intermountain Healthcare in Salt Lake City, Utah, as well as the Patient Safety Officer Executive Development Program from the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. In 2013 he received the Executive Patient Safety Leadership Award from the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services.
