Claus Weisemann PhD

Claus Weisemann, Ph.D. is Vice President, Quality Affairs. He joined Luitpold in 2014 and is responsible for managing the right systems and processes to ensure products meet standards for safety and efficacy and is manufactured in accordance with cGMPs. With over 23 years of industry experience, Claus previously held quality leadership roles with Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Grifols Biologicals, Watson Laboratories, and Bayer.

Dr. Weisemann is a graduate of University of Ulm, Germany with an advanced degree in chemistry and a Ph.D. in organic chemistry. Claus is a member of the Parenteral Drug Association (PDA), the German and American Chemical Societies, International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) and the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and holds a number of advisory roles for various organizations and institutions. In his free time, Claus is a member of the Civil Air Patrol, holds a commercial pilot license and is a certified flight instructor.
