Claudio Luchini, MD, Ph.D., Surgical Pathologist, on 1st October 2019 he has been appointed as Associate Professor of Pathology at Verona University. He has improved his knowledge in the field of cancer pathology also with research periods in the USA in 2014-2015, first at Indiana University School of Medicine (Indianapolis, IN, USA) and then at the Sol Goldman Pancreatic Cancer Research Center of the Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, MD, USA). He is the author of more than 220 scientific publications and contributions, and his main research topic regards the study of gastroentero-bilio-pancreatic neoplasms, mainly from the histological, immunohistochemical, immunological, and molecular points of view. He also applies secondary statistical methodologies to cancer research. He is the responsible and coordinator of the Cassini Project 2017 for scientific collaborations with French researchers. He is the associate editor of BMC Cancer and BMC Gastroenterology, and a member of the Editorial Board of Virchows Archiv, Human Pathology, Pathology Research and Practice, Pathologica, and World Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology. He is a member of the pancreaticobiliary pathology society - PBPS/USCAP.
