Dr. Claudia Rodriguez received her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. She also completed her postgraduate medical education with a residency in psychiatry and an addiction fellowship through Boston University School of Medicine, affiliated with the Department of Veterans’ Affairs health care system. She is currently an associate psychiatrist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital with a focus on addiction-related consult-liason work. In addition, she is the Director of the Outpatient Addiction Recovery Program at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, where she has played an active role in program development, starting an extended release injectable naltrexone program and working with a team to provide dual diagnosis and buprenorphine treatment for opioid use disorder.

Dr. Rodriguez’s interests include program development and disseminating knowledge of treatment of substance use disorders to residents, colleagues, and multiple treatment specialties. She finds great value in her role as an educator. She believes in the power of the therapeutic relationship, self-compassion, and careful hope, which are crucial components in the management of addiction. She has engaged in multiple didactic presentations at local and national levels, and provides constant supervision to addiction fellows, residents, and medical students.
