Dr. Claudia Maier is a professor in the Department of Chemistry and director of the Mass Spectrometry Center at Oregon State University. Dr. Maier received her Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Konstanz, Germany in 1994. She has 20+ years of expertise in developing and applying mass spectrometry techniques for the analysis of metabolites, proteins, and supramolecular complexes in biological systems. Dr. Maier’s research interests are in exploring the molecular responses of biological systems to environmental exposures, radiation, disease, and aging. A central theme is the elucidation of chemical and biochemical mechanisms associated with redox homeostasis, redox regulation, and oxidative stress-mediated cellular dysfunctions with the goal to advance the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
