Claudia L. Kleinman PhD

Dr. Kleinman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Human Genetics, Faculty of Medicine, at McGill University. She is a full-time Investigator at the Lady Davis Institute for Medical Research (LDI) at the Jewish General Hospital (JGH), an Associate Member of the McGill Centre for Translational Research in Cancer (MCTRC) within the Segal Cancer Centre, and a researcher at the Ludmer Centre for Neuroinformatics & Mental Health.

Dr. Kleinman’s research programs focus on identifying cancer driver genes in molecularly stratified patient populations; identifying molecular signatures of therapeutic resistance in cancer and understanding the functional consequences of mutations in neurodevelopmental disease genes, most specifically in pediatric brain tumors.

Dr. Kleinman completed an MSc-equivalent in Biological Sciences at the Universidad de Buenos Aires (1999) in Argentina, a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics at the Université de Montréal (2010, Dean’s Honor List), and postdoctoral research at the Genome Quebec Innovation Centre (2010-14). She joined McGill and the Lady Davis Research Institute in 2014. She has received awards from Genome Canada, Genome Quebec, the Canadian Foundation for Innovation, Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, Quebec Research Fund - Society and Culture, Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Canadian Cancer Society Research Institute, and currently holds a career award from the Quebec Research Fund - Society and Culture.
