Clarissa Grace Barnes MD

Clarissa Barnes, MD serves as the Medical Director of LIGHT. An internist by training, her current clinical role is as a hospitalist at Avera McKennan Hospital & University Health Center in Sioux Falls, SD. Prior to that, she has worked in Pierre and Yankton, SD in a variety of inpatient and outpatient roles.

Dr. Barnes is committed to promoting medical provider wellness for her colleagues at Avera and beyond. In her former work as a primary care physician, she has experience helping physicians learn to meet their own needs. As a physician leader, she advocates for innovative system-level change. She has dedicated her efforts to helping physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners achieve their own versions of work-life balance and overall wellness.
