Claire Nolan is a Patient Engagement Lead at MediPaCe Ltd. Claire joined the health charity sector and has worked in different roles over the last decade. In 2013 Claire joined Parkinson’s UK, building a patient/carer network of almost 5000 people engaging with Parkinson’s research across the UK. Claire went on to develop a leading Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) research program supporting over 150 research teams to work with 130 people affected by Parkinson’s to shape vital Parkinson’s research. More recently Claire’s work has included supporting pharmaceutical companies to work closely with people affected by health conditions to understand burdens and unmet needs, as well as develop sensitive and acceptable clinical trial protocols, and more relevant outcome measures.

Claire continues to work with a number of UK charities as well as the Charities Research Involvement Group (CRIG) in the UK. She was the lead author of the recent CRIG guidance Supporting patient and public involvement in industry-led research: guidance for charities and works to support charities and pharmaceutical companies to work together to ensure people affected by health conditions are at the center of medicines development.
