Claire Murdoch has been appointed by Simon Stevens, chief of NHS England, as the new NHS National Mental Health Director.
Murdoch has been a registered mental health nurse for 34 years and is currently the chief executive of Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL), one of the largest integrated community and mental health trusts in the country.
She will play a key role in leading the implementation of a recent report published by NHS England’s independent Mental Health Taskforce, which sets out a vision for improving mental heath services over the coming five years.
