Dr. Claire Lawson is a clinical epidemiologist and associate nurse professor with 20 years of experience in cardiovascular clinical care, education, and now research. Claire joined the University of Leicester UK, as a Wellcome Trust postdoctoral research fellow in 2017 after completing a National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) doctoral fellowship and PhD in Clinical Science. Claire currently holds an NIHR Advanced Fellowship within the Department of Cardiovascular Sciences, where she leads a research program using ‘big data’ to investigate heart failure epidemiology, patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs), and health informatics. Her current fellowship focuses on using PROMs for dynamic prediction of hospitalization in heart failure patients. Claire is a Fellow of the HFA, a member of the HFA Surveys, Registries and Epidemiology Committee, an associate lecturer at Karolinska Institute, Sweden, and a task force member for the current European Heart Failure Nurse Curriculum.
