Cindy Ottone MHA

Ms. Ottone is the Director of Policy-Measures in the Product Development and Support Division of the National Committee for Quality Assurance. She has been with NCQA since 2000. In her current position, Ms. Ottone supports the implementation of NCQA’s performance measurement products including HEDIS Products. Ms. Ottone represents the policy perspective on several NCQA projects including CHIPRA TA, the Measure Advisory Panels, the Audit Methodology Panel, HEDIS Data Submission, and Physician Recognition. As the HEDIS director, she also supervises staff answering NCQA customers through the HEDIS Policy Clarification Support system.

Prior to working at NCQA, Ms. Ottone has worked with managed care organizations and physician practices. Ms. Ottone was assigned to quality measurement and improvement at Companion HealthCare, a Blue Cross Blue Shield HMO. While at Companion, Ms. Ottone focused her efforts on HEDIS measurement, Disease Management Programs, and Quality Improvement Activities in both the clinical and operations departments. Ms. Ottone has also worked in large provider practices with their billing systems and strategic planning.

Ms. Ottone received her Bachelor of Arts in Health Science and Policy from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. She received a Masters of Health Administration from the University of South Carolina. Previously, Ms. Ottone also served adjunct faculty at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences and the University of South Carolina, Arnold School of Public Health. Ms. Ottone currently serves on the Board of Trustees at Prisma-Richland Hospital in Columbia, SC.
