Cindy is a West Region Field Trainer/Coach at Ashfield Healthcare. She has been a registered nurse for over 30 years and a Certified Asthma Educator since 2003. Her most recent role as an Asthma Nurse Educator for Ashfield Healthcare was sponsored by Novartis and Genentech Pharmaceuticals covering the NW States; WA, OR, ID, MT, AK, and N. CA, providing asthma education to nurses in multiple different settings. Cindy is currently serving on the Washington Asthma Initiative Steering Committee and was founder of the Southwest Washington Asthma Coalition. In addition, she is Past President of the Asthma Education Center of the Northwest. Cindy is passionate about asthma education having raised her own son with moderate severe persistent asthma. She believes in a team approach to asthma care and through education bringing increased quality of life for patients. She often reminds others on the health care team of what an important role they play in the asthmatic patients life whether nurses, healthcare providers, hospitals, schools, regardless if 2or 30 minutes of time, it all counts when the goal is to achieve optimal care for the patient based on the NHLBI Expert Panel Report 3: Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Asthma.
