Cielito Caneja is a Clinical Lead Nurse in Bronchoscopy and Interventional Radiology at the Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Foundation Trust. She has a Special interest in Asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, and Interventional Pulmonology. She holds a Masters’s Degree in Cardio-Respiratory Nursing, Diploma in Clinical Medicine awarded from Imperial College London. She has completed her Quality Improvement Leadership in Institute for Healthcare Improvement American Board Medical Specialties in 2019. In 2017 she was awarded the Joint Research Committee Grant for leading the Bronchoscopy Nursing Studies. She holds Post Graduate studies in Independent Nurse Practise from Florence Nightingale School of Nursing. She is a Faculty of several International Academic Institutions such as the Bronchoscopy Module National Heart and Lung Institute- Royal Brompton Hospital London. She has published multiple clinical and scientific publications with global citations.

Cielito has diverse training and nursing experience from Asia and the Middle East. In her early career as a newly qualified nurse, she was recognized for her voluntary services in the National Health Emergency and Disaster Preparedness by virtue of the Presidential proclamation of the Philippines. These services amplified in her active response in the National Health Service and community services in London during the pandemic.

She continues to train in Informatics Digital Health Care and Artificial Intelligence. Cielito is passionate about promoting the use of evidence-based practice by allied health professionals and facilitating the amalgamation of conventional and digital health care in acute and community. Her AHRC NWL Fellowship project will combine these interests by exploring the use of shared decision-making training and use information technology physiological objective parameters, engaging patients and families to participate fully in decisions about their health and well-being.
