Christos Bourantas MD, PhD

Dr. Christos Bourantas is a Consultant Cardiologist at Barts Heart Centre and Professor of Cardiology (Hon) at Queen Mary University London. She graduated from the Medical School, University of Ioannina, Greece, in 1999 and received his Ph.D. degree from the same university in 2005. He completed his cardiology training at Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, UK in 2011 and then he moved to Rotterdam and worked as a post-doctorate fellow at Thoraxcenter Erasmus MC, the Netherlands. In 2013, he was appointed as a fellow in interventional cardiology at the Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, UK.

He has more than 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals and she is an editor in 3 books and he is Honorary Senior Lecturer at University College London. His research interests include invasive and noninvasive cardiovascular imaging, 3-D modeling and blood flow simulations, and transcatheter aortic valve implantation.
